Goalflashes and major incidents
2147: The final whistle goes. Scotland enjoyed the better of the play in the opening half but the home team never really recovered from New Zealand's equaliser shortly after the restart. Scotland leave the field to a chorus of boos.
2146: Scotland substitute Andy Gray is inches from making contact with a dangerous cross. He was just metres from goal and any sort of contact would have surely given his team a late winner.
2141: Stevie Crawford heads the ball goalwards from short range. The ball strikes Ryan Nelsen on the arm just a yard from goal, but the referee rejects a strong claim for handball.
2138: Brian Kerr comes on for Scotland, making his senior debut - the 48th player to be used by Berti Vogts in his reign as the national team manager.
2135: Jackie McNamara knocks a low ball into the box, which Stevie Crawford knocks narrowly wide with a cheeky backheel.
2130: Mark Burton tries to chip Rab Douglas from 20 yards. The Scotland keeper scrambles backwards towards his own goal and watches the ball drift a yard over the crossbar. The game seems to lack any spark at the moment.
2125: James McFadden once again pulls the strings for Scotland, dribbling his way down the left. He has been Scotland's most influential player by a considerable margin.
2120: New Zealand continue to play with confidence following their goal. The equaliser clearly stunned Scotland, who are still trying to find their rhythm after the goal.
2111: Steven Pressley loses possession near his own goal and substitute Aaran Lines has only Rab Douglas to beat, but the Scotland keeper makes an excellent save.
2107: James McFadden shoots from an acute angle but his shot is comfortably saved by Jason Batty.
2102: Scotland 1-1 New Zealand
A deep free-kick is met by Ryan Nelsen, who beats Kevin Kyle to the ball to stab home an equaliser for New Zealand with their first attempt on target.
2100: The second-half starts. Graham Alexander replaces Maurice Ross in the Scotland line-up, while Jason Batty and Duncan Oughton replace Michael Utting and David Mulligan in the All White side.
2045: The first-half ends with Scotland deservedly in the lead. New Zealand, though, have created some good positions and with a little more composure in front of goal might have equalised.
2042: Gerard Davis breaks down the left and cuts inside before shooting wide, failing to spot several of his All White team-mates who had pushed forward to support him.
2041: Nelsen should do better with a free header from a corner, but his glancing connection drifts wide. Scotland need to improve their marking at set pieces.
2038: Devlin breaks into a superb position inside the New Zealand penalty area but there are no Scotland players supporting him and the visitors manage to clear the danger.
2034: Scotland's Kevin Kyle connects with Devlin's cross but his header is put out for a corner by Ryan Nelsen.
2033: New Zealand attack down the left and Noah Hickey should do better with a deep cross, but his first touch is awful and the chance is gone.
2025: Stevie Crawford shoots powerfully from the edge of the area and forces a good save from Utting.
2024: Noah Hickey is put through on the left and appears set for a clean run at goal, but Steven Pressley gets across superbly to block the New Zealand forward's run.
2022: Scotland defender Christian Dailly is booked for a late challenge.
2020: The game starts to open up, with both Scotland and New Zealand pushing forward at every opportunity.
2011: GOAL: Scotland 1-0 New Zealand
Stevie Crawford heads Scotland in front just a yard from goal after a superbly delivered corner by McFadden. Utting in the New Zealand goal should have done better.
2009: McFadden enjoys another break down the left, thwarted only by a last-ditch tackle. Scotland are settling into their task and enjoying most of the possession.
2004: McFadden jinks down the left but his cross is blocked. The impressive Motherwell youngster has enjoyed a few early touches.
2001: New Zealand win an early corner. Gerard Davis, getting the better of Christian Dailly, has a free header and should do better.
2000 BST: The match starts with Scotland looking for a morale-boosting win ahead of their Euro 2004 qualifier with Germany.
